Two major escapes of farmed Atlantic salmon occurred in south-eastern Tasmania during late 2020. The first involved the loss of an estimated 50,000-52,000 fish with an average weight of about 4 kg and the second, nine days later, the loss of 120,000-130,000 fish averaging about 550 g in weight.
